The Shield Battery is a 2x2 room unlocked at level 9 that helps restore shield capacity/hitpoints. The Shield Battery consumes a maximum of two power, and will recharge shield capacity by one every reload. However, this will not increase max shield capacity.


Battle Mechanics

The Shield Battery requires the player to have a Shield Generator onboard the ship. Otherwise, the Shield Battery will not do anything. Along with this, destroying the Shield Battery does not immediately set the shield level to 0 like destroying the Shield Generator does. This is because the Shield Battery does not project a shield, it merely supports it.

In Combat

The Shield Battery should be treated as a second shield generator. It's in the same AI category as the Shield Generator, meaning players attacking the Shield Generator will also attack the Shield Battery. Also, the Shield Battery's small size, low power consumption, and overall effectiveness will make it a common target for many players. Thus, Armor and man the Shield Battery as well as the Shield Generator.

When To Use

The Shield Battery is a welcome defense room for Gunship and Teleporter ships. It'll tremendously help survivability against enemy barrages and ensure steady return fire. Players may not find room for the battery at first, but level 10 and 11 ships will have more than enough room to carry the battery.


Just like the Shield Generator, this is an AI command that helps save power. This AI will depower the battery once all weapons that can damage the shield are destroyed/missing. Shield Batteries are also categorized as a "Shield Room" in AI coding.

Enemy Laser Room HP > 0% -> Set Maximum Power

Enemy Cannon Room HP > 0% -> Set Maximum Power

Enemy Craft Count > 0 -> Set Maximum Power

None -> Set Minimum Power
