Summary
The Rocket Missile is the first missile you unlock when you build the Missile Launcher. The Rocket Missile is basically just a harder hitting Mineral Mining Laser blast. This makes it easily replaced by late game missiles. The Rocket is also buffed (Increase In Level) by researching Rocket.
Strategies
The ( + ) Combo:
This strategy is very common with new players using the Missile Launcher. This simply involves getting the Rockets to focus fire a system, usually with other weapon systems. This usually works on weaker level ships but it'll struggle the higher you advance.
The ( + ) Combo:
This strategy is the newer players variant of the repair crew bait tactic. This involves using the Rocket to draw Repair crew to a room, and then using the Jungler Missile to finish it off. This is much easier to do as you won't have to time it as heavily.
AI Tips
The AI for the Rocket Missile is probably the most complex out of all of them. Due to the Rocket having no main effect, it is hard to switch between missiles for the rocket. Remember to put this AI in the Missile Launcher.
The Average Settings:
None -> Set Maximum Power
None -> Target Enemy (?)
None -> Set Highest System Damage
This is a basic setting, it usually is for ships that focus fire weaker rooms. However, here is a much more advanced AI that can be very threatening when used correctly. This is most useful for depleting enemy stamina. This advanced AI switch room target and missile type if you want it to, fill in ? by yourself.
Advanced AI Settings:
None -> Set Maximum Power
Enemy Ship Has An Active Shield -> Target Enemy (?)
Enemy Ship Has An Active Shield -> Set Highest (?)
Enemy Ship Has No Active Shield -> Target Enemy (?)
Enemy Ship Has No Active Shield -> Set Highest System Damage
