The Gym is a 2x2 Room that allows you to train aka permanently buff your crew. These upgrades can boost your crew's left side stats being HP, Attack, Ability, and Stamina. Training can also be buffed with Fitness Researches to make them more effective. Thus, you should probably wait till your maxed out at level 9 to start mass training your more valuable crew. Since Common, Elite, and Unique Crew are easy to replace, there is no long term harm in spending excess minerals on their training early on.
Drag A Crew Into The Gym, Click On Him, and Click Train

Crew and the Gym Cannot Be Removed Until Training Is Done (This Can Be Rushed)
Click On The Crew When The Timer Is Over And Done! (The Buff Gained Is mostly RNG, but Many Factors [Seen Below] can influence this)
What Is Training Capacity?
Crew have a built in limit on how buffed they can become. This limit is usually shown as a bar on the bottom of crew profiles. How close you are to this limit also affects your chance on what buffs you’re given and in what amounts. This is called Training Capacity:
To avoid back to back training, crew will sometimes get fatigued after they train. You automatically get Tier 1 Fatigue when you use a Military Training option, but you can also get fatigued from DIY or Pro. options if you back to back train your crew with them. When your crew gets fatigued, the amount of buffs they get from training is decreased. To get rid of fatigue, you have to wait between 12 hours to 1 day for a Tier of Fatigue to be removed from them.
Tier 1 Fatigue, Small Training Penalty
Tier 2 Fatigue, Large Training Penalty
Tier 3 Fatigue, 100% Training Penalty
Training Options
The Gym has a massive amount of training options to choose from. New Options also will get added when you research Fitness in the Laboratory. Training will cost Minerals and will give some XP.

For Health, Ability, and Attack, buffs are given in percentages.
For Stamina, buffs are given in seconds (1 Buff = 1 Second you can Run).
When You Have Equipment along with Buffs, the formula becomes: Base Max Stat * (100%+Training Buff%) * (100%+Equipment Buff%). If a buff doesn’t increase the stat by %, just turn the * into a +.
