− | The EMP Cannon is a late game weapon unlocked at ship level 10. The cannon sends a barrage of EMP lasers that do minimal room damage when fired, these lasers do not damage crew. The lasers also need to be recharged with gas for use. |

− | ==Strategy== |
||
− | ===Attacking=== |
||
− | The EMP Cannon can be a pretty high risk high reward weapon. The weapon itself takes alot of power and does only 2-3 bars of damage to shielding. However, if you can take down the shields fast, it can heavily stun long charging rooms like the [[Ion Cannon]] and [[Teleport]]. |
||
− | |||
− | ===Defending=== |
||
− | If your level 11, chances are all the other level 11 people have it. If your level 10 and can power and fit it, go for it, it really hurts [[Teleport]]ers and the [[Hangar]]. Alot of people will try to take out EMP weapons first so make sure you armor and man this thing well. Note that the EMP Cannon is classified as a cannon in the [[Command Center]]. |
||
− | |||
⚫ | |||
− | ===Level 10=== |
||
− | If your level 10 and in a dilemma, try to think about the following. Do you have trouble fighting boarders, do you have enough wiggle room to fit a 4x2 room without cutting off important rooms, do you have enough shield damage for it, and can you power it. If you say no to atleast two of these, you should wait till your level 11. |
||
− | |||
− | ===Level 11=== |
||
− | If your level 11, there really isn't much of a reason not to use this weapon. You should have enough crew, space, and power to fit this weapon. Unless you want to use the room for something else, the combination of this weapon and the [[Ion Cannon]] can annihilate rooms with ease. |

Summary
The EMP Cannon is a 4x2 weapon room unlocked at level 10. It's the most reliable way of inflicting EMP to rooms because unlike the EMP Missile, the EMP Cannon's charges cannot be dodged with an Engine. Like the Plasma Discharger, the EMP Cannon requires Gas fueled ammo to fire.
Usage
In Combat
The EMP Cannon is quite powerful and rather expensive power wise. Its high power consumption makes it rather hard to destroy, making 1-2 Armor blocks sufficient for protection. The EMP Cannon's charges can inflict nearly 10s worth of EMP, along with some other damage. This allows the EMP Cannon to stunlock rooms quite effectively. Additionally, make sure to refill its ammo after every fight.
When To Use
The EMP Cannon is the staple of level 10 ships, with little reason not to use it in most strategies. The EMP Cannon has the potential to lock down rooms like the Teleport, Shield Generator, and Hangar for the entire game if it's not disturbed. Its high space and power requirement may be hard to deal with, but its combat potential is immeasurable.
AI
AI for the EMP Cannon is relatively straightforward. The AI should target a room the player finds a hassle to deal with. A second room should also be targetted if the first targetted room isn't very common. This is to avoid the EMP Cannon idling when the target room isn't present on the enemy's ship.
Crew Interactions
The EMP Cannon is buffed with the Weapon stat on crew. The reload reduction formula applied when the EMP Cannon is buffed can be found here.
