AP Damage   Direct Hull Damage

Introduction

Direct Hull Damage is Hull Damage that doesn't require the targetted room to be destroyed to damage a ship's HP (Hull). The damage dealt by Direct Hull Damage can be reduced through Armor, just like normal Hull Damage. Direct Hull Damage is commonly seen in the form of the Penetrator Missile. The somewhat hated strategy utilizes the Penetrator Missile's Direct Hull Damage to destroy a ship without even damaging a single room using weapons.

Direct Hull Damage Mechanics

Direct Hull Damage deals damage directly to the enemy hull when it hits a room, as the name implies. Modules cannot prevent any Direct Hull Damage from being dealt, and Direct Hull Damage can't damage Modules. However, Direct Hull Damage can be reduced by any type of Armor, placed or innate.
