− | The AI equip command for the Defence Droid is quite complicated if the player has multiple Androids built. This is because the Defence Droid has nothing unique to separate it from other built Androids. Thus, make sure to read the text in parenthesis to know when the AI command will work and when it won't. Remember to put the below AI equip command in the Android Studio, Visiri Mechbay, or Robotics Bay to automatically equip the Defence Droid during combat. |

Summary
The Defence Droid is an Android unlocked for the Android Studio after the player researches Defence Droid in the Laboratory. When deployed, Androids are considered a Crew member. However, Androids will not add to a ship's maximum Crew capacity. The Defence Droid can be upgraded by researching further levels of Defence Droid.
When deployed, the Defence Droid will actively hunt enemy boarders on the player's ship. If no enemy boarders are present, the Android will idle in its current room. The Defence Droid possesses the Critical Strike ability and will use it as soon as it enters a room with an enemy boarder. Like all Androids, the Defence Droid has the lowest Crew Seniority possible, and its AI cannot be edited.

Android Combos
Read First
The combos below are excerpts from the Android Studio and Visri Mechbay pages. Combos marked with an * only require one Android producing room to work. Combos marked with a ^ require two Android producing rooms to work.
Defence Droid Combo* [Support][Mid-End Game] +
The Defence Droid Combo* utilizes Defence Droids that attack enemy boarders onboard the player's ship. When paired with the Android's Critical Strike ability, the Defender Droid can do guaranteed damage to an enemy boarder.
Service and Attack Combo* [Support][Mid-Late Game] +
The Service and Attack Combo* utilizes Service and Defence Droids to essentially do two tasks at once. For example, pairing the Defence Droid and Service Droid together allows the player to defend against enemy boarders whilst also repairing rooms and healing repair Crew.
Defence Spam Combo^ [Support][Mid-Late Game] + + +
The Defence Spam Combo utilizes 4 Defence Droids that bombard enemy boarders onboard the player's ship. With the Defence Droid's Critical Strike ability, this combo can do massive damage to enemy boarders in a short period of time.
Repair and Attack Combo^ [Support][Mid-Late Game] + + +
The Repair and Attack Combo^ utilizes Defence and Service Droids. By pairing the two Androids together, the player can have multiple Android combos going on at once. For example, 2 Defence Droids and 2 Service Droids allows the player to defend against enemy boarders with the Defence Droids whilst repairing rooms and healing Crew with the Service Droids.
When To Use
Defence Droids are used for additional protection against enemy boarders. The Android’s high HP, Crit ability and continuous production can soak up enemy boarders’ abilities and whittle down their HP. Their AI is designed specifically to hunt enemy boarders, so in the event the player does not have any defence Crew left, the Defence Droid will continue to handle enemy boarders.
AI
The following AI equip commands must be placed in an Android producing room to work. Additionally, the AI equip command for the Defence Droid varies if the player has multiple Androids built. Because of this, make sure to read the text in parentheses to know when the command will work and when it won't work.
None -> Set Cheapest Items (Will Only Work If No Service Droids Are Built)
None -> Set Dearest Items (Will Only Work If No Boarder Droids Are Built)
Alternatively, the below AI command will only equip Defence Droids if the enemy ship has a working Teleport. This can be used to save power since Defence Droids don't need to be built if the enemy can't send out boarders.
Enemy Teleport HP > 0% -> Set Cheapest/Dearest Items
Rocket Missile • Javelin Missile • Jungle Missile • Penetrator Missile • EMP Missile • Scarlet Missile • Mimic Missile • Cruise Missile • Wildling Missile
Service Droid • Defence Droid • Boarder Droid • Mini Droid
Interceptor Craft • Stinger Craft • Defender Craft • Firehawk Craft • Corsair Craft
