The Anti Craft Laser (AA) is a 2x2 weapon room unlocked at level five. The Anti Craft Laser is also the only room that can destroy enemy Crafts. Thus, this room is a big target for Hangar users. The Anti Craft Laser's laser does 0.6 damage to enemy craft while consuming a maximum of two power.
The Anti Craft Laser can be a very risky room to use. One Anti Craft Laser by itself usually can't defend against experienced Hangar users and the two maximum power can allow for easy hull damage. Thus, it is important to Armor this room well and situate it near repair crew. Despite the downsides, this room is by far one the best ways to counter the Hangar. The fast reload and decent damage can kill Crafts very quickly.
When To Use
When to use the Anti Craft Laser usually depends on playstyle. Teleport ships can usually wait until level eight, while slow paced gunships might need the defensive capabilities of the room sooner. Usually, waiting until level eight when two AA rooms can be used is optimal, since two AAs make it far more difficult for the enemy to pile up Crafts.
Since the Anti Craft Laser can only attack Crafts, it doesn’t need power if the enemy doesn't have a Hangar. Below is an AI command that will automatically depower the Anti Craft Laser if the enemy doesn't have any craft deployed. Also, the Anti Craft Laser is counted as an "AntiCraft" in AI coding.
